My DSLR hung heavy around my neck as I hiked up the mesa trail. When I reached the top, I discovered the amazing views of the countryside. The combination of the hike and the scenery literally took my breath away. I soon discovered this odd rock pile that seemed to defy gravity. It sat precariously beside the edge of the 400+ foot cliff ready to tumble over at any moment. I was jealous of this little rock pile. That it could remain here and enjoy the view while I had to leave to return home.
